A website as an All-in-One-Hub

A singular moment can decide between life and death in intensive care. The medical teams bear a tremendous responsibility and must be optimally supported. Hamilton Medical is a leading manufacturer of ventilation solutions for intensive care medicine. Ergosign redesigned Hamilton Medical's corporate website. The challenge was to create a comprehensive information and resource center for the various user groups and simplify ordering accessories and consumables. The development of a suitable information architecture was crucial for this purpose.

Hamilton Medical commissioned Ergosign to redesign the corporate website, which serves as an information, e-commerce, and learning platform for various stakeholders in the medical field. As an all-in-one hub for different user groups in intensive care medicine, the intent is to ensure quick and easy access to content despite the high volume of information. Ergosign conceptualized, designed, and implemented the new web presence, with the design inspired by the new corporate design. The brand communication, including the visual development of imagery and corporate design, was developed by Geyst, a creative agency specializing in brand development.

ApproachConsidering on individual requirements

Supporting the various user groups was the joint focus of Hamilton Medical and Ergosign. Contextual observations and interviews on the individual needs of the user groups formed the core of our user research activities. In a synthesis phase, the collected insights on the future website were structured and subsequently established the basis for defining a flexible information architecture. In collaborative workshops, a central resource center was designed in which product documentation, study results, instructions and information videos can be quickly found, searched and filtered.

OutcomeIntelligent information architecture

With impressive information and numerous opportunities to experience Hamilton Medical products, the website has become a hub for buyers, sellers, technical support, and medical professionals. Interactive pages, such as the E-catalog, support easy ordering through prepared order lists for consumables. A special eye-catcher was the development of a generic product page with scroll-bound product videos. Users of the site can control a dynamic 3D animation of the product using the mouse. The technical implementation was done with UI components for framework-agnostic use in the Content Management System (Magnolia) using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. A WYSIWYG editor enables the creation of website content without coding. The relaunch resulted in a significant improvement in website performance and enhanced customer satisfaction.
